Navy bean seeds are fast growing and high yielding.

Navy Beans

Substantial plants for substantial needs

Our navy bean seeds grow substantial plants that are heavy producers with beans that stand up to long cooking times for soups, stews, and baked beans.

Blizzard

Blizzard is a Navy Bean Variety developed for Cooperative Elevator Co. through ProVita’s navy bean breeding program and registered in Canada in 2018

Blizzard is a broadly adapted navy bean variety ideally suited to North Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Manitoba and Ontario production regions.  A consistent performer throughout the trialing process and in commercial production, it’s upright architecture, high pod set, and excellent yield potential make it an excellent choice for direct harvesting and conventional growers.  Blizzard’s tall plant structure provides great pod clearance, placing the pods high in the canopy allowing for ease of direct harvest while maintaining it’s yield versus competitors.

  • Excellent upright architecture placing it’s pods high into the plant canopy making it excellent for direct harvest
  • Matures 99-101 days or one day earlier maturity than T9905**
  • Approximate seed count is 2,415 sds./lb
  • Blizzard has the “I” gene for bean common mosaic virus, is resistant to Anthracnose (race 7) and has shown similar resistance to rust as HMS Medalist in the CSU rust trials

T9905

T9905 is a Navy Bean variety developed by Hyland Seeds and registered in Canada in 2004

T9905 is a broadly adapted navy bean variety ideally suited to North Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Manitoba and Ontario production regions.  A consistent performer throughout the trialing process and in commercial production, it’s upright architecture, high pod set, and excellent yield potential make it an acceptable choice for direct harvesting and conventional growers.  T9905’s tall plant structure provides good pod clearance, placing the pods high in the canopy allowing for direct harvest while maintaining it’s yield versus competitors.

  • Excellent upright architecture placing it’s pods high into the plant canopy making it excellent for direct harvest
  • Maturity is 102 days over 37 site years
  • Approximate seed count is 2,400 sds./lb
  • Above average White Mold Tolerance

Indi

Indi is a Navy Bean variety developed by ADM Seedwest and registered in Canada in 2012

Indi is a mid-maturing, indeterminate upright vine which is adapted to MN/DAK. Indi’s upright structure gives good pod clearance and makes it a variety that is highly suitable for direct harvest. The Indi variety has consistently shown erect structure, improved pod clearance, resistance to lodging, and excellent concurrent dry-down of pods.

  • Maturity is 2 days earlier than T9905
  • Approximate seed count is 2,494 sds./lb
  • Resistant to Bean Common Mosaic Virus
  • Yield is 101% of T9905 over 29 site years
